Wood's Consulting business is currently seeking a Senior Noise Control Engineer to join our growing Vibration, Dynamics, and Noise (VDN) team. The VDN team is currently seated across offices in Houston, TX, Calgary, AB, and Oakville, ON. This role could be situated at one of our offices or remote. The Senior Noise Control Engineer is a hands-on and client facing role where you will develop business opportunities and client relationships, manage projects, lead junior engineers, complete desktop analysis, collect and analyze data at client facilities, and write reports. Travel is expected to be up to 15% annually, and typically would be 2-7 day trips
The VDN business is growing and this is a great opportunity to join a leading global Engineering Consulting firm. The ideal candidate will be an Engineer, with 4-10 years’ experience in noise assessment, combined with a good mechanical aptitude and grasp of engineering principles, and a strong client focus.

Expected:
- Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or an equivalent discipline required
- Eligible for P.Eng registration in Alberta
- 4-10 years of experience in acoustics, vibration and noise
- Experience with a variety of sound and vibration modeling software (e.g., CadnaA/R, SoundPlan, CATT, ODEON etc.)
- Experience with a variety of sound and vibration measurement instruments (e.g. Larson Davis, B&K, DAQ, Labview, etc.)
- Experience with industrial, mining, construction, transportation, and municipal noise projects
- Experience with vibration of any type would be an asset
- Experience in review of engineering drawings
- Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to engage and interact professionally with colleagues, suppliers and clients
- Strong attention to detail, combined with excellent time management skills, to take on, balance and complete multiple projects
- Motivated and enthusiastic learner with the ability to work independently and in team settings
- Must be available to travel (mostly domestic) offshore and onshore, sometimes on short notice
- Must have a valid unrestricted driver’s license
- Must be Canadian Citizen or are authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood
- Able to travel to the U.S.
