Location: Brantford

Shifts: 12-hour Continental shift (7 to 7), rotating every 2 weeks (days/nights).

TheQuality Assurance (QA) Technicianis an essential part of our production team and process, to ensure that our products are produced to meet customer requirements. TheQA Technicianmonitors the Production and Packing processes to identify and highlight any observed variances from standard, through systematic spot audits.

**Union:**membership required after 600 hours.

What you will do?

  • Perform all duties in compliance with established health, safety, quality, and food safety standards, including the use of required PPE and reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions to Supervisors and team members.
  • Conduct regular quality audits across all production lines and work closely with the QA Coordinator, Plant Management, and Shift Supervisors to ensure leadership is informed of potential quality and food safety concerns.
  • Carry out product inspections and testing in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering during new product and/or material development to support quality and food safety requirements.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure customer specifications are met, including labeling, pack sizes, and special quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including record verification, filing, and label preparation.
  • Understand, support, and train (as required) on Quality and Food Safety systems, including SQF and HACCP, as well as related cleaning practices and requirements.
  • Provide additional support during changeovers, maintain the sample room, and assist in monitoring first production runs or new product launches as required.
  • This role is subject to theCollective Agreement between Amhil and Workers United Canada Council (WUCC)

What will you bring?

-A person withGreat Attitude, diplomacy and tenacity.

  • 3 - 5 years QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or experience equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to understand English written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to fill out labels, reports, and checklists.
  • Must be willing to work in areas of heat & humidity, noise and dust.
  • Must be willing to wear all required PPE protective equipment.
  • Computer proficiency: PC, iPad, MS Office, Minitab, (DataMyte an asset).
  • Must be able to clearly distinguish colours.
  • Able to lift 10-15kg (35-40lbs) on a regular basis and stand for periods of time.
  • Flexible to work different work schedules as required as work assignments will change and opportunity to complete work may require a shift change.
  • Always nice to have is knowing Amhil's products or plastic thermoforming processes.
