Senior Manager, Operations How does the role impact the organization? We are seeking a Senior Manager, Operations for our downtown Vancouver office. Reporting to the AVP of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and management of their assigned team(s). Specifically, successfully managing the Innovation & Insights team which is home to business analytics, learning and development and forms teams.

In this key “Service 1 st ” role, you will bring demonstrated leadership competencies to your team and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers. The successful candidate will embrace the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the broader Operations function within a major broker/dealer, while continuing to build strong cross-functional relationships.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Lead, manage and co-ordinate the day-to-day activities of your assigned functional area(s); as well as perform administrative tasks where required to maintain prescribed service levels.
  • Provide leadership to all members of your team including ensuring their understanding and adherence to departmental and inter-departmental operating policies and procedures, while demonstrating strong client-centric problem resolution skills for all escalated issues.
  • Curate and lead delivery of the continual service improvement roadmap.
  • As coach of your team, design personal development plans and skills enhancement training for all associates, while conducting regular, structured one-on-one and department-wide meetings that provide for common goal setting, an open learning environment and foster opportunities for collaborative idea sharing.
  • Establish successful relationships with key stakeholders across the firm.
  • Measure, monitor and manage the performance of your team, including assessing, identifying and implementing department-specific performance improvement and/or reengineering opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives to meet or exceed changing industry and regulatory requirements, while ensuring the firm complies with and/or continues to set industry best practices.
  • Active participation in preparation of annual operating budget.

What do we expect from you? To qualify for this opportunity you possess:

  • Exemplary customer service skills and overall attentiveness, along with superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven skills in problem resolution and handling sensitive or confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and/or adapt to changing priorities to meet important deadlines.
  • Keen interest in learning and expanding your knowledge while understanding that credibility and/or mastery only comes from “rolling your sleeves up” when learning new tasks.
  • Experience leading a team towards defined goals and objectives on a consistent basis.
  • Minimum 5–7 years progressive management and/or leadership experience in a diverse environment, preferably in an Operations role with direct or related industry experience.
  • A university or professional degree in a field related to business or operations management.
  • Prior experience in the deployment and use of workflow management software (ServiceNow) would be beneficial.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office is an asset.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc) $110,000- $125,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
