We are currently looking to add a Insulator/Back Framer to our growing production team. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for construction, to attend work in one location every day. We design and build customized modular structures for residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout Western Canada.
We are a WorkSafeBC COR/OSSE certified company because we believe that everyone should go home safe to their families every day. Located in Westbank, we are a growing turnkey custom builder of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
The Job:
- Follow contract drawings and specifications
- Understand daily priorities and resolve/fix any problems, in a timely manner.
- Install vapour barriers and required insulation, including attic insulation and batt insulation.
- Construct and install back framing components, including blocking, backing, and furring strips, to support drywall and other finish materials.
- Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs.
- Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools.
- Safely use general pneumatic tools including, but not limited to, nail guns and staple guns.
- Perform general carpentry and residential wood frame construction tasks.
- Safely operate and maintain spray foam equipment, maintaining appropriate pressure and temperature settings (if trained).
- Identify and communicate problems as they arise and take action to correct.
- Follow the company safety program as per current procedures and pro-actively work to develop and maintain a culture of safety onsite.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The Ideal Candidate:
- Prior experience with a variety of hand and power tools is preferred, ideally in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Proven experience in insulation installation, and back framing
- Spray foam application, or willingness to learn spray foam
- Highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Dependable.
- Proven problem-solving ability.
Compensation:
The typical hiring range for this position is $22 - 29 per hour. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
