The Opportunity
The Ministry of Social Services is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional to join our team as Manager, Housing Finance. In this leadership role, you will provide strategic financial management, oversight, and advice for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC). Your expertise will strengthen SHC’s financial stewardship and contribute directly to the long-term sustainability of housing services across the province.
In this exciting opportunity, you will:
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the Corporation, providing insights into financial management strategies and offering guidance on the interpretation of financial policies.
- Establish and oversee robust organizational processes, policies, controls, and reporting systems that safeguard assets and ensure internal controls within the Corporation.
- Manage the annual review engagement with external auditors, presenting financial information to the Management team.
- Provide leadership for planning, accountability and decision making relative to Saskatchewan Housing Corporation financial reporting and accounting, budgets, fiscal management and central services.
- Analyze emerging accounting and reporting standards, driving the adaptation of policies to address these changes.
Our Ideal Candidate
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- A deep understanding of financial management, accounting principles, human resources standards, and administrative law.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve complex financial reporting issues.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A commitment to fostering an environment that empowers staff to excel and achieve exceptional results.
The ideal candidate will possess a professional accounting designation and a degree in commerce/administration and have progressive experience in a financial management environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Candidates must clearly indicate in their cover letter or résumé where they have acquired the knowledge and abilities required for this position.
