About the role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a growing organization and play a key role in its continued success. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations, driving process improvements, and contributing to strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will have previous Controller experience, a CPA designation (or be nearing completion), and a desire to expand their leadership responsibilities while helping to build and strengthen the finance function. Construction industry experience is preferred; however, candidates from other industries with strong financial leadership experience are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making Monitor and manage working capital, cash flow, and accounts receivable performance Establish and improve internal controls, policies, and financial processes Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting Partner with operational leaders to support planning, performance management, and growth initiatives Lead and develop members of the accounting and finance team Support strategic planning and long-term business objectives Qualifications CPA designation or actively pursuing completion Previous experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management experience Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience leading process improvements and implementing financial controls Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization Construction industry experience is considered a strong asset
