About the role

Supervises, trains and inspects the performance of assigned housekeeping staff to ensure all procedures are completed to the unit standard. Coordinate and support all relevant activities of the housekeeping department with a special emphasis on infection control and Occupational Health and Safety. Follows appropriate policies, procedures, and job routines to meet the needs of the site. Conduct regular audits to ensure employees are following proper cleaning procedures, and document audits in an electronic program. Ensure assigned staff have reported to work and clocked in properly, and document late or absent employees. Document call-offs and replacements for any shift and coordinate assigned staff breaks. Prepare and distribute the assignment sheet to staff and review priorities. Communicate additions or changes to the assignment as they arise throughout the shift. Assigned designated keys, pagers, and iPads to assigned staff. Maintain an accurate record of such assignments and ensure the security keys. Check all equipment used by staff for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems. Instruct designated personnel to correct deficiencies. Assist staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and service, and conduct staff training as assigned.

At least ( 2) years of housekeeping supervisory experience. Working knowledge of all housekeeping procedures. Previous experience working in a unionized environment is preferred. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, both one-on-one and in group situations Ability to work under stressful conditions. Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations. Excellent computer skills. Ability to operate cleaning equipment as a working supervisor. Experience with buffing and waxing is a must.
