REGISTERED NURSE (RN), NORTHERN EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (NERT) AND VIRTUAL SUPPORT

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC).
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.
In accordance with the objectives, established policies, procedures, and protocols of the NH Access, Flow, and Transfer Services, the primary responsibility of the Nurse is to perform interfacility transfers alongside BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) paramedics and to provide in-the-moment real time advice and mentorship for Rural Emergency Department nurses managing complex patients via an established virtual network. When not performing transfers, the Nurse assists with patient care as required working together with hospital-based practitioners at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) and actively supporting the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and healthcare teams in the hospital.
The NERT and Virtual Support Nurse practices in a variety of clinical settings and competently applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Working in collaboration with the bedside nurse and other multi-disciplinary care teams in Rural Emergency Departments, assists in providing the most appropriate care available within their current context, using a variety of specialized communication and information technologies.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, Rotating
