Construction QA/QC & Electrical Commissioning Engineer Location: Montréal, QC (On-site)
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Approx. $150,000 CAD annually
Travel: Up to 25% (Canada & U.S.)
About The Role We’re looking for a Construction QA/QC and Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our growing Data Center & Mission Critical team in Montréal. This is a key technical and leadership role responsible for ensuring quality, reliability, and performance across complex power and infrastructure systems.
You’ll collaborate closely with project stakeholders—including owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and authorities having jurisdiction—to deliver high-quality commissioning and QA/QC programs from design through post-construction.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute commissioning and QA/QC activities for data centers and other mission-critical facilities.
- Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, and SOPs aligned with ASHRAE guidelines and client requirements.
- Oversee installation, startup, and integrated systems testing for electrical systems, and support mechanical/plumbing system verification.
- Perform field testing and inspection using PQM, megger, thermography, and other diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with project teams and ensure full documentation, compliance, and reporting of commissioning deliverables.
- Manage communication with internal teams, contractors, inspectors, and AHJs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize commissioning and QA/QC tools such as CxAlloy, Facility Grid, BIM 360, and related platforms.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering or field testing; 3+ years focused on commissioning or QA/QC services.
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems—including UPS, generators, switchgear, ATSs, STSs, PDUs, and EPMS.
- Hands-on experience testing utility transformers, fuel systems, and power generation equipment.
- Knowledge of NETA standards and testing protocols; ability to interpret and report on electrical test results.
- Commissioning or NETA certification (preferred).
- Engineering or technical degree from an ABET-accredited program (preferred).
- P.Eng/PE or PMP designation considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French (bilingual required).
- Proficiency with MS Project, Word, and Excel.
- Experience working in a consulting or owner-rep environment is an advantage.
