THE OPPORTUNITY
Ambipar is currently seeking a Senior Accountant based out of Calgary, Alberta.
RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAND / WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF

Prepare and post complex journal entries related to loans, leases, and other technical accounting areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS

Manage and maintain fixed asset schedules, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and calculating depreciation entries
-
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
-
Prepare and deliver various financial reports in accordance with Ambipar requirements and internal management needs
-
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
-
Perform detailed financial analyses and prepare reports as directed by the CFO or Finance Manager to support strategic decision-making
-
Coordinate and assist with audit requests, providing accurate documentation and supporting schedules.

Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including data gathering, variance analysis, and reporting
-
Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
-
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations
-
Broad support of all accounting and finance activities as required, including ad hoc requests or special projects as required by management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting and financial reporting

Proficiency in QuickBooks and intermediate Excel skills; experience with Replicon considered an asset

Strong competency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn new systems quickly
-
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
-
Proven ability to foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on mutual respect and collaboration
-
Highly adaptable to a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks independently

Demonstrate problem-solving abilities, including identifying issues and implementing timely resolutions.

Maintain a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn and grow

Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
