The Role

As a member of the Technical Services team, you will report to a senior project manager and support the successful execution of projects within the mining division. This role is well suited for someone early in their project management career who brings several years of hands‑on experience in maintenance, operations, or field‑based roles. You will contribute to project delivery by coordinating activities, supporting schedules and documentation, and assisting with the completion of quality project outcomes aligned with company goals and business objectives. The non‑routine maintenance (NRM) projects span various stages, from early concept and framing through to implementation, and focus on supporting the reliability and ongoing performance of Cameco’s infrastructure.

In this role, you will:

  • Supporting the delivery of smaller or well-defined project scopes.

  • Coordinating schedules, documentation, and project tracking activities.

  • Assisting with cost tracking, reporting, and change management.

  • Working under the guidance of a more senior project manager.

  • Gaining exposure to field execution, contractors, and operational stakeholders.

  • Be responsible for the team’s safety, efficiency, productivity and compliance with Cameco and industry standards.

  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, identify and secure resources, report on project status to management, facilitate solutions, manage project safety and risk, and promote a culture consistent with Cameco values.

  • You will work very closely and be integrated with the operations and key stakeholders within the mining division.

Required:

  • diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field;
  • three to six years of experience gained in maintenance, operations, reliability and/or field-based technical roles in an industrial setting;
  • a minimum of three years of exposure to project work, such as supporting non-routine maintenance projects, project coordination, scheduling or cost tracking, or acting as a project team member supporting project delivery;
  • equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
  • PMP, trade certification or and professional engineering designation, or the ability to obtain the relevant certification;
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, build trust and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of personnel; and
  • frequent travel to our sites will be required during active project planning and execution and to foster, manage, and maintain relationships with key site stakeholders.

Recommended:

  • experience in industrial process settings, industrial or agricultural maintenance, automation, and manufacturing; and

  • experience with Microsoft Project and SAP or equivalent systems.
