Our member is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Gas Technician (G1 or G2 licensed) with commercial and industrial experience to join their team in Kitchener, ON. Job Summary In this role, you'll install, inspect, maintain, and repair gas systems and equipment in commercial and industrial environments, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of gas piping, meters, regulators, burners, and commercial/industrial gas equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot gas systems to ensure proper operation and safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Test for leaks and verify system performance using gas detection and diagnostic tools.
- Ensure all work meets applicable building codes, safety standards, and TSSA regulations.
- Complete accurate documentation of work performed, including parts and materials used.
- Maintain strong customer service and communicate clearly with clients on system performance and maintenance.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and project teams as required.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current TSSA Gas Technician 2 (G2) or Gas Technician 1 (G1) licence.
- Commercial/industrial gas systems experience required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong understanding of gas safety codes and compliance requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment:
- Field-based work in commercial and industrial facilities.
- Must be safety-aware and capable of working in varied conditions.
