NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER (PSW)

Full-Time Position - Contract April 2026 - December 2027

Must be able to work days & nights, 12 hr shifts as scheduled

COMPENSATION:**$23.75 - $28.75

***POSITION SUMMARY:***As a member of the interprofessional collaborative team, the PSW is responsible for individualized hospice and palliative care that focuses on comfort and quality of life, care planning, assessment & pain and symptom management, and psychosocial care for the resident and their family within the scope of the PSW.

***REPORTS TO:***Director of Resident Care (DRC)

***DATE REQUIRED:***Start April 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Completion of a PSW certificate with a recognized program -Current BCLS certification -Completion of established palliative care courses such as Core and Advanced Fundamentals or willingness to obtain.

EXPERIENCE:

-Three (3) years of recent palliative care experience; experience in a hospice residence setting or a palliative unit/community assignment preferred

REQUIREMENTS:

-Two Step TB test and Vulnerable Sector Check

ABILITIES:

-Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in the English language. Additional languages an asset. -Ability to meet the physical demands of the position. -Computer literate and able to work with Microsoft Suite -Knowledge of Point Click Care documentation system an asset.
