CO-OP STUDENT

Job Type: Temporary, full-time

Location: Mississauga & Brampton Ontario

Salary: $26.04/Hr

The co-op student placements with Peel Regional Police are part of a unique program established in partnership with colleges and universities. These placements are designed to provide students with meaningful, hands-on work experience that supports both academic learning and professional growth, while helping students meet graduation requirements. To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in a recognized co-op program through their educational institution.

Placement Opportunities;

  • Corporate Security Services – Support security operations, access control, key management, and related administrative and project coordination tasks.
  • Court Services – Support court operations by assisting with officer court cards, data entry, public inquiries and administrative tasks.
  • Crime Analysis – Collect, analyze, and summarize crime and enforcement data to support investigations and proactive public safety initiatives.
  • IT Asset Management – Maintain and analyze IT asset databases, support procurement and lifecycle management, and help optimize asset management processes.
  • IT Research and Innovation – Research emerging technologies, evaluate innovative solutions, and support IT strategy to enhance policing and community safety.
  • Occupational Health and Safety – support workplace inspections, disability managements, safety training, and the development of health and safety resources and reports
  • Records Services – Assist with records management, data entry, and information requests.

Enough about us, lets talk about you

You are someone with:

  • Current enrollment in a college or university co-op program in a relevant field of study.( e.g., Business, Criminology, IT, Security, Health & Safety, or related)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with good time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software or tools depending on the role.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.

College/University co-op positions are for the Winter 2026 term and will run from January 12, 2026, to April 24, 2026 .
