What is the Opportunity?
As part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team, the Associate Director, Technology Strategy and Systems will support operational risk management leadership by providing/developing technology systems to enhance management’s/stakeholders’ ability to anticipate and manage operational risks effectively.
The role will support the Director Technology in building out robust technology capabilities to support the execution of the Operational Risk management framework and universal risk practices. It is responsible for execution of the operational risk technology roadmap.
What will you do?
- Define and prioritize systems roadmap and backlog, in alignment with the overall operational risk roadmap.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including, universal risk practices teams, operational risk domain COGs (Centers of Governance) and A&O teams as well as 1LOD teams across enterprise to understand needs and translate them into system requirements and user stories.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the risk systems’ enhancements.
- Ensure the product meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Communicate product features and benefits to key stakeholders
- Manage the product lifecycle, including release planning, feature prioritization,
- Elicit and document business requirements for various initiatives with focus on translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Responsible for creating, refining and maintaining requirements and user story documentation
- Responsible for creating, maintaining user acceptance testing approach
- Responsible for user acceptance testing execution and post implementation verification
- Continuously monitor OR systems performance and gather customer feedback to inform ongoing product improvements
- Partner with OR Data Analytics and IT in identifying and implementing tools/software/architecture required to meet the analytics and reporting needs
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10 years of experience in a relevant functional area including financial services, information technology, or other related operational area that supports risk/compliance initiatives within the organization
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business requirements
- Knowledge of data management and operational risk management practices.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and understand their technology implications
- Experience with testing frameworks
- Ability to work collaboratively, develop strong relationships and influence people/groups of varying disciplines and backgrounds.
- Creativity to go beyond current processes to deliver the best solution for a problem or an opportunity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly and efficiently adapt to new concepts.
- Knowledge of Project Management (PMF) process/disciplines
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in agile environments.
- Highly proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Visio and with large volumes of data
Nice-to-have:
- Strong working knowledge of Operational Risk Management concepts and processes
- Working knowledge of industry Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions/packages
- Experience within GRC domains, preferably in Operational Risk
