**Site Overview:**The sites consists of a public parks and adjacent parking lots along Lakeshore Rd East. It attracts high visitor traffic, including photographers, families, and community members. Security presence ensures safe use of the space, supports by-law compliance, manages parking flow, and mitigates nuisance behaviour. Guards maintain visibility, provide customer service, and respond to incidents to keep the environment safe and welcoming.
Position:Temporary Part Time Security Guard(Start Date: May 2, 2026**- End Date:September 30, 2026)**
**Site 1:**Gairloch Gardens, 1288 Lakeshore Rd East
**Site 2:**Coronation Park – 1426 Lakeshore Rd West
**Site 3:**Bronte Beach Park - 45 West River Street
**Hours:**Saturday & Sunday (1000 - 0600 hrs)
Pay Rate:$19.50/hr
**Averaging Agreement:**Overtime is AA

Job Description:
- Monitor the parking lots of the parks to support safe traffic flow.
- Check and verify photography permits for visitors using designated areas.
- Uphold site by-laws and proactively discourage nuisance or disruptive behaviour.
- Conduct foot patrols of the entire park to identify safety hazards, policy breaches, and facility concerns.
- Provide professional, customer-service-focused support to all visitors and staff.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents and emergencies, maintaining calm and order.
- De-escalate situations using effective communication and conflict-management techniques.
- Provide first aid and basic medical assistance when required.
- Maintain accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and documentation aligned with site standards.
- Foster a safe and respectful environment by promoting positive interactions and following all health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Leadership Team or Site management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to sit/stand and walk/climb for extended periods of time
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a security role is required
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License & Standard First AID CPR C
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Customer Service Experience is considered an asset
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
