Safety is our top priority, and you will coordinate with multi-trade crews to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

A Day in the life of a Maintenance Planner includes:

  • Organize and facilitate Planning, Scheduling & Optimization (PS&O) meetings.
  • Create and maintain work packages, area outage schedules, and ensure preventive maintenance is prioritized.
  • Act as Repair Coordinator for your area and support all maintenance processes, including shutdowns, break-in work, and emergencies.
  • Promote a safe and positive working environment, ensuring safety and cost performance objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and open communication for all employees under your direction.

  • Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives (5S, root cause analysis, work standardization).
  • Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (e.g., schedule loading, PM/CM %, cost, labour, materials, backlog accuracy).

For this role, you’ll come equipped with:

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field or trade qualification (welding/pipefitting preferred).
  • 3–5 years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience, ideally in a pulp mill or similar industrial environment.
  • Supervisory experience with strong planning, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

You also have a knack for meeting short term maintenance goals along with keeping the longer range challenges in focus.
