About the role
UHI Machinery is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build their accounting career in the heavy equipment industry while supporting daily accounting, billing, and administrative operations.
The successful candidate will assist with invoices, receipts, payment records, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general financial documentation. This position requires strong attention to detail, good organization skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
Key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Perform accurate data entry for invoices, receipts, payments, and financial transactions
- Prepare customer invoices, miscellaneous billings, and payment records
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Follow up on outstanding customer payments and support collections when needed
- Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer accounts
- Maintain organized financial files, receipts, and accounting documentation
- Assist with monthly reports and internal accounting records
- Support communication with customers, vendors, and internal team members regarding billing and payment matters
- Provide backup support to other team members when required
- Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned
The ideal candidates will:
- At least 1?3 years of accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or collections experience
- Accounting certificate, diploma, or related education preferred
- Working knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a growing company environment
- Experience in equipment, automotive, logistics, construction, or related industries is an asset but not required
