About the role
Job Summary
Specific Duties
Photocopy, file, fax. Format and key exams, course schedules, book lists, inventory, and resale. Invigilate exams. Inventory books, furniture, and equipment. Pack and send equipment for repairs. Organize and co ordinate appointments for counselling, exams, and placement testing. Room Bookings. Order office supplies, materials, and equipment for course/programs. Deliver and pick up parcels to/from airport for off campus programs. Shop for off campus programs. Co ordinate meetings, lunches, and social functions. Book hotel rooms for out of town instructors and consultants. Record attendance for special funded programs. Distribute and collect college keys. You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities. You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues. Other related duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.
Public Reception
Inform on College resources, courses/program, distribute Canada Student Loan materials and exams. Greet public. Answer phones, take and deliver messages. Student registration withdrawals. Resale. Handling cash and VISA . Library loans and returns.
Textbooks
Compile and type orders. Research to insure appropriate texts and editions are ordered, communicate with publishers as required. Order complementary or desk copies of texts, test books, and resource manuals. Within time restraints follow up on bookstore orders. Shipping and receiving.

Skills & Qualifications
Minimum one year of office experience or current (within 3 years) formal secretarial training. Typing of 40 w.p.m. minimum. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to prioritize own workload. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to operate office equipment: photocopier, fax, telephones, and printer. Ability to use WordPerfect advanced level. Basic understanding of Library of Congress classification. Driver’s licence. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexible. Accurate and thorough. Legible penmanship. Professional telephone manners and technique Ability to work under pressure. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Good oral and written communications.
