The University of Regina has an exciting opportunity for a Business Solutions Analyst with a passion for furthering social good to join our team!
This position resides within the University Advancement (UA) team and reports to the Associate Director, Advancement Services. Thoughtful, team-oriented, and motivated to succeed, the successful applicant will play a key role in supporting UA through a range of responsibilities.
Note: This is a multi-disciplinary position that combines aspects of business analyst and programmer analyst functions. Applicants must be ready and able to undertake initiatives involving both categories of function.
What You’ll Do:
- Software Solutions Management: Oversee and administer software solutions unique to UA, ensuring seamless functionality. Provide coaching and support to staff utilizing these solutions, fostering efficient and effective use.
- Data Management and Integration: You will spearhead initiatives to enhance data quality, management, and integration and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency. You will plan and execute data management activities targeting RE NXT and other UA systems and handle data imports, exports, quality assurance, and maintenance programs.
- Reporting and Data Analytics Expert: Utilize your expertise in reporting and data analytics to meet UA’s evolving requirements. As well, you will implement advanced data segmentation techniques to optimize marketing solutions for fundraising and engagement programs.
- Collaboration with Information Services: Act as the primary liaison between UA and the Information Services department, addressing systems issues collaboratively.
- Fundraising Marketing Strategies: Apply your working knowledge of fundraising marketing strategies to achieve optimized solutions through data segmentation techniques.
- Raiser’s Edge NXT System Management: You will take charge of the collection, control, and testing of data in the Raiser’s Edge NXT System and will demonstrate proficiency in RE NXT, mass email, and event management systems to enhance technology solutions.
- Ad-Hoc Data Analytics: Perform ad-hoc data analytics in support of fundraising, alumni engagement, and community engagement programs.
- Innovative Thinker: Evaluate, develop, and test new reporting and data management mechanisms and products. You will seek continuous improvement processes for data integrity and reporting fulfillment.
- Client-Focused Services: Provide client-focused services by combining functional IT knowledge with business and financial expertise and ensuring client expectations are understood and met in an effective manner.

Position Requirements
What You’ll Bring to the Position:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a certificate/diploma in Computer Science or equivalent;
- Minimum three years’ experience in a Business Analyst or Programmer Analyst position.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:
- Demonstrated ability to couple functional IT knowledge with business knowledge to ensure user expectations are understood and communicated is required.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and previous experience in a fundraising environment is required.
- Demonstrated higher-level analytical skills with ability to understand complex and diverse business needs when dealing with internal and external stake holders is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising marketing solutions and strategies for data segmentation to leverage the marketing solutions for fundraising and engagement programs.
- Experience with the production of online content with a website content management system (CMS), as well as a working knowledge of HTML and CSS, would be considered an asset.
- Experience with the Raiser’s Edge NXT platform from Blackbaud, or other comprehensive fundraising and engagement platforms, would be considered an asset.
- Experience with management of mass email marketing systems, data segmentation for email campaigns, and composition of effective mobile-first email designs would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of databases, system queries (SQL), system and report development methodology and mapping knowledge is required.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office software: Word, Excel, Access is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision in a team environment.
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, professionalism and collegiality in communicating with internal and external stakeholders to the University.
- Knowledge of the University environment (or other post-secondary environments) is considered an asset to this position.
- Possess a high degree of prioritization abilities and strategies to adequately deal with diverse demands from various stakeholders.
- Supervisory and management skills are required.
- Banner experience preferred, other business system equivalents will be considered.
Physical Demands
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $66,740 - $90,060 Annually Status Term Work Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:15 am – 4:30 pm
