About the role

Reporting to the Vice President of People & Culture and working closely with the Regional Vice President, the Regional Manager, People & Culture provides strategic leadership to a team of high-performing professionals across the Atlantic Region (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland). This role supports both unionized and non-unionized environments, ensuring consistency in People & Culture practices while balancing business objectives with employee and labour relations needs.

The Regional Manager is responsible for translating business needs into actionable P&C strategies, with a strong focus on high-volume Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, HR Operations, Compliance, and Labour Relations. The role requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, capable of managing competing priorities while ensuring service excellence and alignment with organizational goals and Paladin’s Culture of CARE—Curiosity, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach regional P&C team members, ensuring excellence in service delivery across all HR functions.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for high-volume recruitment initiatives, ensuring regional staffing needs are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Partner with regional leadership to identify workforce needs, support strategic hiring campaigns, and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and promote programs that enhance job satisfaction, retention, and professional growth.
  • Oversee HR operations, including compliance, investigations, and performance management processes.
  • Operate effectively in both unionized and non-unionized environments, including administering and interpreting collective agreements, supporting positive labour-management relations, participating in grievance handling, arbitration, and collective bargaining preparation, and advising leaders on contract application and employee relations strategies.
  • Use HR data and metrics to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful workplace aligned with Paladin’s values and culture.
  • Travel throughout the Atlantic branches (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland) as required to support business needs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive People & Culture experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience in high-volume Talent Acquisition and fast-paced, multi-site environments.
  • Experience in unionized and non-unionized environments is required.
  • Experience in the security or related service industry is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent education.
  • CPHR designation (or equivalent provincial designation) is an asset.
