Who we need
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Product Modelling and CAD Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Product Room. You will manage a small team of CAD modellers and sample developers, ensuring the delivery of aesthetically refined, user-centred digital models and physical prototypes that meet client and production needs.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role that blends industrial design sensibility with workflow planning and continuous improvement. You will lead modelling and reverse engineering efforts using SolidWorks, optimize processes, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and uphold design and quality standards.
This is an onsite role based out of our Progress Avenue headquarters.
What is in it for you
Design impact from concept to creation. You will play a critical role in the product development lifecycle, ensuring every design element—from form to function—aligns with user needs, brand identity, and production feasibility. Your contributions will directly impact the look, feel, and usability of our products.
Growth in design leadership. You will have opportunities to refine workflows, introduce design best practices, mentor others, and grow your expertise using both digital and hands-on prototyping tools in a collaborative setting.
Career advancement in a design-forward environment. As we scale and innovate, you’ll be part of a growing team that values design thinking, experimentation, and continuous learning. We invest in people and design technologies, offering you space to evolve your career as an industrial design leader.
As our new Product Modelling and CAD Supervisor, you will:
- Lead and inspire a design team. You will create and oversee visually compelling, user-centered CAD models, ensuring the form and function align with client expectations and brand standards. You will mentor product modellers and champion a culture of design excellence and creativity.
- Oversee physical prototyping. You will guide the development of aesthetic and functional prototypes, from concept through iteration, integrating feedback to enhance product design.
- Foster collaboration. You will work closely with project managers and design stakeholders to define project goals, timelines, and priorities—ensuring smooth coordination between design, production, and other teams.
- Elevate design quality. You will implement visual and functional quality control checks to ensure every product meets our standards of design integrity and manufacturability.
- Champion a safe and inspiring workspace. You will maintain a creative studio environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to design exploration and innovation.
You have:
- A background in Industrial Design. You hold a diploma or degree in Industrial Design or a related field. You have experience in product modelling and design, with an eye for aesthetics, form, and user experience. You understand how products are conceptualized, refined, and brought to market.
- Design and digital modelling skills. You have a designer’s mindset and a deep understanding of materials, construction, and manufacturing constraints. You are proficient in SolidWorks, and familiar with design visualization tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, or 3D Studio Max. Experience with 3D printing, scanning, and other prototyping tools is a strong asset.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities. You can effectively articulate design concepts, lead creative reviews, and work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams. You are organized and can manage multiple design projects from concept through prototyping.
What you can expect from the interview process:
- A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor discussing your interest in the role, the team’s culture and your experience.
- An on-site interview with the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Manager, and a member of our HR team. You will have a chance to share your experience and ask and answer questions about 3D CAD modelling and product drafting. This includes a 30-minute technical assessment on SolidWorks.
