A little about our Education & Training Division

At Mothercraft, we are dedicated to providing exceptional childcare and early learning experiences that promote healthy development for all families. The Education and Training Division includes Mothercraft's College of Early Childhood Education and training department. Mothercraft's College of Early Childhood Education offers a twelve (12) month, four-semester, accelerated and intensive diploma program in Early Childhood Education. The Mothercraft Diploma in Early Childhood Education is recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and is a Registered Career College with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU). Mothercraft also offers professional training for individuals and groups in the early learning and early years sectors as well as training programs related to Home Based Child Care.

As our newest**Placement Coordinator,**you will play a crucial role supporting Mothercraft's College of Early Childhood Education. Your passion for early childhood education and ability to connect with students will be instrumental in fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere. As a Placement Coordinator, you will…

  • Report to the Manager of Academic Programs and coordinate student placements internally and externally
  • Deliver ECE Diploma courses or guest lectures/seminars in-person and online (as needed)
  • Advise on/coordinate placements across different programs (in-person and online), including supervision and in-person field visits.
  • Build new partnerships and agreements, maintain existing partnerships and agreements with placement sites, identify potential field placements
  • Arrange, conduct, and document meetings with students and placement partners regarding placement related matters
  • Conduct all placement orientations, tutorials, and small group orientation meetings
  • Participate in discussions and meetings to ensure placement content is in tune with current research and trends offered in the Diploma programs
  • Ensure student documentation required for placements is maintained, complete, and current
  • Ensure all placement assignments and age specific paper work are maintained and updated in Learning Management System (Moodle)
  • Evaluate all placement assignments/paperwork for each block placement, submit grades within timely manner and file documentation
  • Utilize a variety of video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams) and Mothercraft's Learning Management System (Moodle)

You will be set up for success if you have...

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or related Bachelor's degree, working towards a Masters' Degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in an early learning setting
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a student mentoring and/or supervisory setting
  • Knowledge of video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams); familiarity with Mothercraft's Learning Management System (Moodle) an asset
  • Experience working with indigenous people is an asset
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (travel within GTHA)
