OHS Assistant (Temporary 1 year role)
As part of the National Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) team, the OH&S assistant will be supporting important work that helps reduce time lost from workplace injuries and contributes to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for employees.
In this role, you will support employee health and safety claims, assist with OH&S initiatives, collaborate with local management teams throughout the claims and recoveryatwork process, and help ensure that health and safety data is accurately recorded and reported.

This role is a temporary role to covering a maternity leave between May 15 2026 – June 1, 2027.
Job Requirements:
- Support with administrative work as required.
- Communicate directly with insurance boards, injured workers and managers to support recovery-at-work programs.
- Submit required documentation to legislative bodies in compliance with regulatory standards within required timelines.
- Assist in designing and implementing modified work offers to support return-to-work programs.
- Create, organize, and maintain confidential case files in accordance with privacy requirements.
- Track and document all incidents including near misses for recordkeeping and statistical analysis.
- Ensuring Paladin’s National OH&S tracker is updated and contains accurate information by maintaining up-to-date injury data.
- Supporting with OH&S program development.
**Job Skills:**The successful candidate will demonstrate the required competencies and align with Paladin’s corporate culture and CARE values.
- Knowledge of WCB (Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan) an asset
- Knowledge of claims management and asset.
- A willingness to learn provincial OH&S rules and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
- A willingness to learn and navigate Paladin’s various software programs.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by effective presentation abilities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Legally Authorized to work in Canda
