Endress+Hauser Canada was founded on May 1st, 1990. The company's main office is in Burlington, Ontario and additional offices are in Montreal, Quebec, Calgary & Edmonton, Alberta. Our Channel Partners and Authorized Service Partners provide coverage and support across Canada.

We are looking for a Sales Development Manager to join our group and they will be responsible for establishing, executing, and managing sales activities to develop sustainable mid and long-term sales growth across all regions in Canada. This position’s primary focus will be, but not limited to, the strategic industries Oil & Gas, Mining, Minerals, & Metals, Food & Beverage, and Life Sciences. Growth, in these strategic industries, for temperature and system product instruments is the focus.

Which tasks will you perform?

  • Proactively generates and executes plans and initiatives to expand new and current customer base within the industries
  • Collaborates with marketing and sales colleagues on identifying and aligning activities with our sales centres, channel partners and representatives ensuring development aligns with stakeholder strategies
  • Establishes milestones and performance indicators to ensure strategies and initiatives are beneficial and value add for the sales centres, representatives, and other partners
  • Partners with marketing team to develop new sales avenues and execute strategies
  • Provides guidance through industry competence for new product innovations, life cycle, competitor updates and new developments in regulation related to industry
  • Creation of sales orientation and plans to increase customer expansion and penetration
  • Assist with negotiation of commercial and pricing terms with sales centres, channel partners, OEMs and other partnerships, ensuring growth in industries
  • Qualify and approach prospective customers in combination with sales colleagues
  • Supplement sales centers with project prospecting, account management, MRO and complaint management to ensure customer experience
  • Assist with technical product and industry trainings across all partners
  • Collaborate globally ensuring alignment with global and local initiatives and activities
  • Plan with Area Management and Controlling to ensure competitive bidding
  • This function also supports Sales Centres, channel partners, representatives and our customers with the temperature and system product portfolio. This includes activities such as analysis of market trends and economic drivers, forecasting, identifying market opportunities within the strategic industries, technical support, and overall customer growth and retainment.
  • All other duties as assigned

What do we expect from you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and at least 7-10 years of related experience in process instrumentation/automation sales or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience and knowledge within defined industry is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, international and domestic, covering all regions of Canada
  • Ability to interface with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to dynamically speak in a group setting or during a presentation
  • Ability to network effectively and to establish direction and guidance in sales prospects
