Position Overview Are you ready to grow your career, build new skills and enhance your network while contributing to a national strategic priority? We are seeking an Account Manager who will leverage strong relationship-building skills, business development mindset and a keen interest to develop defence expertise to generate new business opportunities and manage an existing portfolio within the defence sector.
Your primary goal: to make a meaningful impact on the success of entrepreneurs with annual revenues of $5M+ through our tailored financing solutions and advisory services.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET Here’s What a Typical Week Looks Like
- Actively contribute to the Defence sector strategy by contributing to a national Business Development team dedicated to the sector in a complex and fast evolving environment
- Leverage strong relationship building and influence skills to collaborate with industry experts to develop sector knowledge and contribute to building BDC’s credibility
- Build and execute a dynamic business development plan aligned with the Defence team’s objectives, activating a proactive prospecting strategy to establish a robust and sustainable pipeline within this strategic market, while supporting the growth and retention of existing clients
- Meet with entrepreneurs, clients, and prospects to understand their business specifics, diagnose challenges, provide strategic advice, and recommend BDC solutions tailored to their needs.
- Analyze, negotiate, and present high-quality financing proposals using sound credit judgment.
- Maintain an active presence in the business community in the Defence Sector by networking within associations and chambers of commerce to develop relationships and secure referrals that support new client acquisition.
What We Are Looking For If you can answer YES to the following questions, you might be the person we are looking for:
- Do you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration?
- Are you passionate about entrepreneurship and have more than 5 to 7 years of experience, along with solid knowledge of the business environment, ideally in the defence sector?
- Are you driven not only to meet but to surpass ambitious targets, applying a proactive and results‑oriented approach to business development maintaining a highly active market presence?
- Do you possess advanced credit skills and are eager to be exposed to increasing complexity?
- Are you interested in working in dynamic and fast-paced cross functional environment, collaborating with colleague across the COO and beyond?
- Are you recognized for your ability to quickly identify issues and business needs for entrepreneurs?
- Do your clients remember you for the accuracy of your advice and your outstanding customer service?
- Are you a team player who builds strong, lasting relationships with peers, partners, and clients?
- Do you have excellent negotiation skills and a results-driven mindset?
