About Who You Get To Work With

A Little More About The Role Working collaboratively with the Sustainable Transportation Lead and as part of a multidisciplinary team out of the Edmonton, AB office you will make the following valuable contributions:
- Lead and contribute to a wide range of Traffic Engineering and Traffic Operations projects.
- Typical projects include traffic operations reviews (e.g. warrants, traffic controls, lane configuration, geometry), signal timing reviews (e.g. clearance intervals, optimization, coordination), parking reviews (e.g. geometry, supply/demand, parking impact assessments), traffic impact assessments (e.g. vehicles, active modes), access reviews (e.g. geometry, access management, placement), speed reviews (e.g. default speeds, posted speeds, reduced speeds) and safety reviews (e.g. nominal safety, contributing factors, options development).
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with municipalities, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage small and medium-sized projects, including budgeting, scheduling, client coordination and proposal preparation.
- Mentor junior engineers and technologists by reviewing work and providing guidance.
- Support business development through client relationship building and proposal writing.
A Little About You Your resume and cover letter should show us:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s considered an asset).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility for registration with APEGA/other provincial engineering associations.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and traffic operations.
- Completion of Traffic Operations Studies, Traffic Impact Assessments and/or Parking Studies.
- Experience in project management.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian traffic engineering standards (TAC, MUTCDC, etc.) and local standards (Edmonton, TEC).
- Proficiency with traffic engineering software which may include (Synchro, SIDRA, HCS).
- Excellent written, verbal and consulting skills with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with client management and business development.
Bonus Points For
- Completion of Road Safety Professional (RSP1), Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) or Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) designation.
- Experience with Transportation Planning Studies, Transportation Master Plans and Transportation Strategies.
