About the role
Our client, a reputable civil construction contractor operating across Western Canada, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale and multi-phase infrastructure projects while providing leadership across multiple project teams. This is a fully remote role offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in British Columbia, with travel to project sites across the province required up to 50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead large-scale or complex civil construction projects from planning through to completion, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives. Oversee and support Project Managers and field teams, providing guidance on execution strategy, risk mitigation, and project delivery. Manage project financials including forecasting, cost control, and profitability across multiple projects. Build and maintain strong client, consultant, and stakeholder relationships, acting as a senior point of contact for project-related matters. Support contract negotiations, major change orders, and high-level commercial decision-making. Drive performance by monitoring KPIs and implementing strategies to improve project outcomes. Mentor and develop Project Managers and project teams, supporting workforce planning and resource allocation. Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, reporting, and operational workflows. Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety requirements.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
10+ years of experience in civil construction project management, with a proven track record delivering large or multiple concurrent projects. Willingness and ability to travel to project sites throughout British Columbia up to 50% of the time. Strong experience in cost control, contract management, scheduling, and overall project execution. Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring project teams. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and complex project environments. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred. PMP or equivalent designation is considered a strong asset. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
