Title: Advisor - Learning Solutions, First Aid Program

In accordance with Canadian Red Cross (CRC) policies and procedures, and under the direction of the Manager, Learning Solutions, the Advisor – First Aid Program, Learning Solutions provides administrative and coordination support for the development, implementation, and maintenance of learning tools, resources, and initiatives within the First Aid Education portfolio. The Advisor assists with organizing learning projects, maintaining documentation, tracking timelines, and supporting communication among staff, volunteers, and training partners. The role also contributes to the development and coordination of a First Aid Instructor Mentorship and Networking Program, helping to strengthen instructor engagement and professional growth opportunities.

In this role, you will : Program Coordination and Administrative Support

  • Support logistics for pilot sessions, meetings, and stakeholder consultations related to first aid program revisions or launches.
  • Prepare reports, meeting summaries, and presentation materials as requested.

Support for Learning Development and Implementation

  • Assist with the preparation and organization of learning interventions and educational tools under the direction of Advisors or the Manager.
  • Collect and organize data or feedback from instructors, learners, and stakeholders to support evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in monitoring project timelines and deliverables to ensure alignment with departmental priorities.
  • Support content testing, feedback gathering, and minor edits or updates to instructional materials under supervision.

Instructor Mentorship and Network Coordination

  • Support the planning, development, and coordination of a First Aid Instructor Mentorship and Networking Program aimed at enhancing collaboration and knowledge sharing among instructors.
  • Assist in developing communication materials, resources, and tools to promote participation and engagement in the mentorship network.
  • Coordinate virtual or in-person networking sessions, webinars, or community of practice events for instructors.
  • Maintain contact lists, schedules, and participant tracking for mentorship and instructor engagement initiatives.
  • Collect feedback and prepare summary reports on mentorship and network activities to support program evaluation and improvement.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Support the preparation and dissemination of internal updates, newsletters, or bulletins for instructor audiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the First Aid Program to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.

What we are looking for :

  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in instructional design, adult education, learning & development or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to develop instructional content.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Ability to design and facilitate engaging training sessions, both in-person and virtually. Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French language skills are an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with learning platforms (e.g., Brightspace, Articulate) considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of First Aid education, public health, or volunteer-based programs is an asset.
  • Experience coordinating virtual meetings, webinars, or events preferred.
  • Demonstrates initiative and reliability in supporting team priorities.
  • Builds positive working relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and with cultural sensitivity.
  • Manages time effectively and maintains attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

  • The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel required for meetings, training, or events.
  • May occasionally work flexible hours to accommodate meetings or national coordination needs.
