The Emergency Vehicle Technician is a key part of a team that are largely responsible to ensure all vehicles are safe, effective, and preventatively maintained in accordance with policies and procedures as stated by Medavie Health NL. This position will work out of O'Connell Base, Monday-Friday.
This position will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Operating all vehicles in accordance with all policies of MHNL.
- Maintains and ensures proper documentation is captured on all work orders, including odometer readings, parts, detailed descriptions for what services were performed accompanied by the appropriate labor times associated with each task.
- Compiling a list of any mechanical parts, supplies or tools required to be ordered.
- Completing all mechanical repairs as directed. Ensuring best buying practices are always followed.
- Conducting reasonable on-going cleanliness of station during scheduled shift.
Professional Qualifications & Requirements
- Five (5) years experience as a Red Seal Certified Automotive Service Technician with a valid Red Seal Certification card.
- Completed courses in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and other courses related to ambulance manufacturing, repair, inventory control and cleaning or are willing to obtain.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence or be willing to obtain.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, initiative, and good judgment.
- Exceptional knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Repair Trade, workload management, basic computer programs and inventory control.
- Good decision-making skills and take initiative as needed.
- Enroll to obtain the Emergency Vehicle Technician certification within 3 years of the original hire date.
- (JOHS) Joint Occupational Health and Safety certification or be willing to obtain.
Wage - $41/hour
The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
