About the role
- Operates tensile and compression testing equipment, together with the necessary test tooling as well as inspection fixtures and gauges.
- Operates torque verification testing equipment.
- Responsible for the recording of test results and alerting the supervisor and the quality department of any non-conforming test results.
- Assist with containment of any suspect material.
- Record quantities removed from production in IMS.
- Responsible for the disposal of tested assemblies into the designated area.
- Assist in the development of any new testing and/or setup procedures required for new and/or existing products.
- Perform dimensional evaluations utilizing specialized equipment such as SmartScope and FormTracer, as well as standard layout inspection tools and techniques, such as height gage, optical comparator, Keyence, caliper/micrometer, etc.
- Perform gage calibration, maintain gage calibration system up to date and assist in MSA studies.
- Ensure work area and equipment is in good working condition and is kept clean and organized.
- Availability to work 3 shifts as needed (day, afternoon, night).
- Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
- Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
- Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
