Job Summary
CMHA Ontario is seeking a**Data & Decision Support Coordinator (2 roles)**to help advance data quality and use of data in the community mental health and addiction sector. In particular, the Data & Decision Support Coordinator will be asked to support processes associated with assessing data quality, data analysis and interpretation, indicator development and calculation, and reporting at the organizational, regional and provincial levels.
Core Responsibilities
Supporting CMHA Ontario branches

Provide orientation and support for CMHA Ontario branches and Mental Health and Addictions providers on the Health Systems Insights portal and Community Business Intelligence portal.

Work with CMHA Ontario branches to collect business requirements for custom reports.

Support the development of user-friendly dashboards and reports.

Monitor and assess data quality and provide connections to support quality and process improvement to address data quality issues.

Support CMHA Ontario branches and Mental Health and Addictions providers in the identification of data quality issues, performance gaps, and other opportunities for quality improvement.

Prepare standardized reports for CMHA Ontario branches that include key performance indicators defined and endorsed by CMHA Ontario branches, CMHA Ontario, the provincial government, Ontario Health’s Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence, or relevant working groups.

Respond to CMHA Ontario branch requests for data and performance indicators and provide customized supports for measurement based on the needs of CMHA branches.

Support agencies in building data capacity.
Analysis

Work with the health data manager to develop an approach to data management (data quality, analysis and reporting) using available data sets and reports.

Develop and run regular reports and standard analyses as needed and assess for data issues.

Become conversant with standard report portals, including the Health Systems Insights portal, Community Business Intelligence portal, and others as needed.

Identify gaps in existing dashboards and prepare summaries of issues / challenges for dissemination to branch and system stakeholders.

Participate in the review, prioritization, and development of indicators for the community mental health and addiction sector.
Reporting and Administration

Assist with the development of technical documentation for data management and reporting.

Recommend improvements in health information systems and reporting environments to improve user experience and functionality.

Participate in working groups and CoPs as identified.

Attend team meetings and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.
Skill-Based Competencies

An undergraduate degree or diploma in a relevant field (data analytics, health information management, computing, health administration, quality improvement).

Experience in decision support, data analysis in a health care setting.

Knowledge of data management workflows.

Data analysis experience using clinical, administrative and survey data.

Experience with statistical analysis and MS Office software and applications, Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills.

Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools, including data visualization and dashboard development.

Experience in developing narrative and key messages based on data insights is an asset.

Database proficiency and strong critical skills. Superior verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Group facilitation skills is an asset.

Salary
Hiring Rate: This position pays between $73,520.97 and $75,726.60 per annum, based on a 35- hour work week.
The salary grid for this role ranges between $73,520.97 at Step 1 and $82,748.49 at Step 5. The initial salary offered for this position is anticipated to fall between Step 1 and Step 2 of the salary grid as posted above as the hiring rate.
The successful candidate will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes pension through HOOPP, life, health, and dental insurance, exclusive paid time-off and opportunities for professional development.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, special funded contract position for up to 24 months, working standard office hours (currently 35 hours/week). This position is based in Toronto, Ontario and may require regular travel. We are currently operating within a hybrid model, with colleagues working from the office at least 3 days/week and from home up to 2 days/week.
This position is also a desk job with extended periods of sitting, reading, telephone interaction, and working at the computer. This position involves some moderate lifting, shipping, and handling. Attendance at various meetings throughout the workday/workweek will be required; meetings may occur on short notice, depending on the circumstances.
This position is an active and open vacancy within the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to maintain and submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.
