Position Title: Skills Coach & Technology Developer
Status: PNRK
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, up to 12 months contract
Faculty/Department: Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation
Campus/Location: North Campus
Salary: PT Support Payband 7 (Start $22.15 – Max $33.50)

About the Barrett Centre of Technology Innovation at Humber:
The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation is a new facility built to inspire innovation through collaboration and is part of Humber’s Centre of Innovation network. We bring together industry, students and faculty to solve real world challenges and promote science, technology, engineering, art and math outreach with industry and community partners. We work closely with all faculties across Humber to provide the resources they require to complete capstone, applied research projects, experiential Learning activities and support skills development. We are supported by Humber’s Advanced Manufacturing Skills Consortium: some of the leading technology and innovation companies in Canada.

About the Role:
Under the Supervision of the Director, and Business Operations Manager, the Skills Coach & Technology Developer is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of skills varsity training programs for various internal and external skills competitions. The role supports the creation and implementation of best practices while identifying, developing, and delivering engaging supporting aids—such as videos, digital content, and instructional materials to enhance learning, engagement, and team performance. Knowledge of advanced technology and equipment is critical for supporting a wide range of initiatives and projects. The incumbent must be able to communicate and liaise effectively with faculty, students, staff and external members, including industry partners and community members.
In addition, but not limited to, the incumbent will:

  • Develop and maintain high‑quality content and documentation that support various applied research projects as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creating supporting aids for skills training, such as videos and other multimedia learning assets.
  • Maintaining inventory of equipment and tools and providing the Barrett CTI Director with regular updates;
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are being adhered to at all times;
  • Maintain communication with industry stakeholders/sponsors on CTI initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
Diploma or Degree in a related area of study.

Experience/Skills
2 - 3 years of experience in a related field.
