Division: 680 CJOB, Corus Radio Work Status: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Location: Winnipeg, MB (Onsite) About the Role: Do you live and breathe sports, news, and great storytelling? Are you equally comfortable behind a microphone, in the field chasing a story, or in the studio creating compelling audio content? Reporting to the Manager of Talk and Talent at 680 CJOB, you must be an energetic, creative, and passionate broadcaster who will contribute both as Sports Broadcaster and Co-Host of Jets at Noon (Talk Show Host Intermediate) one of the fastest-growing sports shows in the market, with a rapidly expanding audience across both terrestrial radio and podcast platforms. You will contribute by: Producing, writing, and delivering morning sports reports and sportscasts. Serving as co-host of Jets at Noon, helping drive engaging, informative, and entertaining daily conversations. Developing original story ideas, interviews, and features that connect with our audience. Covering local sports stories, events, and breaking news. Building and maintaining relationships within the local sports community. Creating compelling content across multiple platforms, including radio, digital, social media, and video podcast channels. Collaborating closely with the programming and content teams to grow audience engagement and reach. Skills and experience you bring: Post-secondary education in journalism, communications or a related field. Minimum two years of broadcasting experience preferred. A vested interest in sports, and current events. Journalism background preferred, but not mandatory. A compelling storyteller with an appreciation for the human-interest side of news and sports stories. A curious and strategic interviewer. A strong on-air personality that connects with audiences. Proven understanding of how to create engaging audio and video content. Ability to edit audio and video for the podcast and social media space Connections within local community groups and the sports community. Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the team. Strong writing skills across multiple media platforms. Ability to meet strict deadlines and perform well under pressure. Familiarity with WordPress and Canadian Press (CP) style is considered an asset. A Valid Driver’s License and clear drivers abstract.
