This position is in our Food Enterprise where we are committed to serving food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a complete range of innovative ingredients and branded products. Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk (18 month-term) will proactively monitor and communicate delivery status of shipments to carriers and other stakeholders. In this role, you will collect and organize data for company reporting, as well as coordinate, integrate and implement assigned administrative or staff functions.
Key Accountabilities
- Apply knowledge of department operations and infrastructure, policies and procedures to perform moderately complex administrative processes.
- Solicit, collect and organize documentation and data, performing moderately complex data entry into one or more systems.
- Receive and relay messages and respond to varied and routine administrative requests.
- Monitor pick-ups and deliveries, communicate delays and reasons to sales and carriers, handle returns, diversions and order changes.
- Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
- Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Confirmed ability to be a team player and perform in a fast-paced environment, including sound prioritization, sense of urgency and multitasking.
- Demonstrated strong client and customer focus.
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience working with SAP
