Ghent Landscape is currently seeking motivated individuals looking to join our growing landscape maintenance team as a Crew Leader. Suitable team members are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis and are comfortable in the operation of various landscape maintenance equipment. The Crew Leader will be responsible for a team of 2-3 people and will report directly to the Landscape Manager.

Responsibilities

• Use various landscape maintenance equipment to maintain commercial and high-end residential properties
• Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner
• Provide guidance to landscape labourers and lead hands regarding daily duties
• Communicate with client and supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
• Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
• Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Responsible for own transportation to and from the shop each day
• A valid G license is required with a clean driving record
• Responsible to provide own CSA approved work boots
• Must be willing to work 45-50 hours per week and some weekends depending on work load
• Participate in snow clearing operations during winter months
• Other duties will be assigned as required

Desired Skills and Experience

• 2-3 years experience in landscape maintenance is required
• Must have prior experience leading a crew
• Must have a valid G class license in order to drive company vehicles
• Experience with all landscape maintenance equipment (blowers, trimmers, hedge trimmer, lawn mowers, various small tools, etc.)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be safety conscious
• Skill to troubleshoot solutions when problems arise
• Must obtain WHMIS and Health and Safety training
