This role requires full time on site presence.

Your role

As a Production Editor/Designer, you will design and establish the continuity, pace and artistic/technical elements that make up the editing and visual effects of products for a variety of platforms, lending unique, original added value to them in order to fulfil the desired objectives and artistic intentions.

To this end, you must plan all phases of visual-effect editing, development and creation, assessing the work and time required so that you can propose a schedule in line with production needs.

You will also prepare, transport, set up, operate, dismantle, put away and maintain technical equipment/material, ensuring it is in good, clean and safe working order. Knowledge of different camera types such as EFP, ENG, iPhone, is a plus.

Please note that you will be required to work different shifts, mainly on weekdays but also on weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Community college or specialized diploma in a related field.
  • Two or more years’ video editing experience.

Tasks:

  • Edit video segments in Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer for our platforms, ensuring adherence to the established visual identity.
  • Find, select and apply music soundtracks to visuals.
  • Perform sound mixing.
  • Calibrate and colourize videos.
  • Produce videos in varying formats (square, vertical, horizontal) and lengths to suit each target platform.
  • Attend team meetings throughout the creative process (ideation sessions, team screenings).
  • Maintain and improve post-production processes, including managing files on hard drives and transferring material to the archives.
  • Occasionally provide other team members with training to hone their editing skills.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Skills:

  • Proficiency with the Adobe Premiere editing suite, staying current on new features, plug-ins and updates.
  • Proficiency with the Avid Media Composer editing suite, staying current on new features, plug-ins and updates.
  • Proficiency with the various camera types (EFP, ENG, iPhone, etc.).
  • Advanced understanding of current video production trends and technical specifications for social media formats.
  • Colour grading and sound mixing skills.
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, etc.).
  • Knowledge of media management in a post-production environment.
  • Good knowledge of the pace and visual design of vertical video productions.
  • Ability to be thorough, organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to prioritize, be resourceful and work independently.
  • Ability to work on several projects at a time and meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written French.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English.
