As a key member of the Finance team, the Manager, Valuations will support the execution of IMCO’s valuation strategy for private investments. This role will serve as a bridge between analytical execution and strategic oversight, contributing to valuation processes, stakeholder engagement, and reporting. The Manager will work closely with the Director, Valuations to ensure the integrity and timeliness of valuation outputs while collaborating across departments.

As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:

  • Conduct and review valuation analyses for private investments in infrastructure and global credit, including direct investments and fund positions.
  • Build and refine valuation models, incorporating sensitivity analysis and industry benchmarks.
  • Review valuation inputs and outputs for consistency, accuracy, and alignment with supporting documentation.
  • Monitor operating performance of investments, sector developments, and broader market environments to assess and reflect the valuation impact.
  • Liaise with Front Office and external valuators to validate assumptions and methodologies.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly reporting for internal stakeholders, clients, and boards.
  • Support year-end audit on private investment valuations.
  • Collaborate with Investment Operations, Corporate Finance, and other internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • CBV and/or CFA designation preferred; CPA considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in professional valuation service firms or related fields (e.g., private equity, pension funds, investment banking).
  • Strong understanding of private market investments and valuation principles (IFRS, fair value accounting). Knowledge and background with infrastructure and private credit an asset.
  • Extensive experience in financial modelling and valuation techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Suite (PowerPoint, Word) is required. Proficiency in VBA, Python, Power BI an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage stakeholder expectations, consistently deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to work to tight deadlines and the capability to handle multiple projects and ad-hoc requests simultaneously.
