RESPONSIBILITIES
- Able to receive and interpret maintenance work orders and complete the task with the appropriate tools and documentations.
- Participate in on-call maintenance support on a rotating basis to repair defective plant electrical equipment outside the normal operating hours.
- Performs daily tasks in accordance with safety regulations.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Communication skills both verbal and written with emphasis on English.
- Knowledge of the following specific areas and additional qualifications would be an asset:
- Maintenance, calibration, development and installation of process control instrumentation.
- Maintenance and configuration of programmable logic controllers
- Local area networks and electronic instrumentation, including scales
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving machine breakdowns with minimal downtime of equipment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Journeyman Electrician Certificate.
- Previous experience in maintenance is considered an asset.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude through apprenticeship or job related experience.
- Previous safety training an asset.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- PPE required in all work environments.
- Shift work required.
- Some positions require outdoor work.
- Indoor work environments can vary between wet, dusty, cold, hot and high noise conditions.
- Work around automated equipment.
COMPENSATION
$44.13 per hour
An attractive compensation and benefits package will be provided. From our malt plants in Vancouver, WA and Pocatello, ID, Great Western Malting produces malt for leading brewers and distillers in the western United States and a number of export markets. With the capability to load rail cars, trucks, bulk vessels and containers, Great Western Malting supplies our customers with the highest quality malts in the United States, Canada, Asia and South America.
We produce a wide range of brewing and specialty malts in both bulk and bags. Great Western Malting also operates a roast house in Vancouver, WA where we produce a range of roast malts for the brewing community. In addition, the Vancouver malt plant is organic certified and provides a range of organic malts for the brewing and food industries.
