Specific Accountabilities:
Working closely with a curriculum coach, the SME will play a central role in shaping academic delivery of the Medical Terminology course within the Pre Health Science Pathway program.
Curriculum Development

Course Outline Development: Create accurate and comprehensive course outlines that reflect current needs within the healthcare settings.

Syllabus / Course Plan Design: Develop structured course plans outlining weekly topics, practical components, assessments, and required resources.
Assessment & Evaluation

Assessment Development: Create meaningful assessments that measure knowledge, troubleshooting ability, and overall understanding and application of the terminology used in health science programs and the healthcare system.

Rubric Creation: Develop clear, fair, competency-based rubrics aligned with learning outcomes of the individual course.
Optional Future Teaching Opportunity
- Candidates may be considered for part-time teaching once the program launches in Fall 2026.
About the Position:
This is a part-time temporary support staff role reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences making $34.77 / HR.
This is a meaningful opportunity to shape a new Pre Health Science Pathway program ensuring that foundational learning is embedded in curriculum for medical terminology. Your expertise will directly influence the quality, and readiness of future healthcare students entering the various health science programs and the future professional disciplines within the healthcare system.
Lambton College is seeking an experienced subject matter expert from a regulated healthcare profession to support the development of the curriculum for Medical Terminology course. This role is ideal for a working professional who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning of future students in health science programs.
This is a flexible, project-based position that can be completed while you maintain your full-time employment. Training, coaching, and standardized curriculum templates will be provided.
Qualifications:
Required:

Regulated Healthcare Professional with minimum requirement of Undergraduate Degree in a related field
Preferred, but not required:

Formal teaching experience in post secondary programs

Experience with curriculum development
Additional Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine interest in supporting students in health science programs
