Purpose
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders at Borden mine. The role supports production activities by loading haul trucks, managing stockpiles, maintaining haul roads, and assisting with general mine operations while adhering to all safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Responsibilities
Operate front-end loaders safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures. Load ore and waste material into haul trucks to meet production targets. Build, maintain, and reclaim ore and waste stockpiles. Conduct pre-operational inspections and complete required equipment reports. Monitor equipment performance and promptly report defects or maintenance requirements. Assist with road maintenance and berm construction. Maintain communication with supervisors, dispatch personnel, and other equipment operators. Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and incident investigations as required. Maintain a clean and organized work area around equipment and operational zones.
Training and Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Common Core Modules U5030 Work Safely In The Job Environment U5031 Perform General Lock Out and Tag on Prime Movers and Other Related Equipment U5032 Operate Hand and Power Tools U5034 Operate Hydraulic Excavator U5039 Operate Front End Loader U5044 Operate Forklift Knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices. Strong equipment operating skills. Ability to work safely in a dynamic mining environment. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and extended schedules as required. Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders and access heavy equipment safely.
