What You’ll Be Doing You will support the distribution of FX products within the Financial Solutions Group (“FSG”) for CIBC Capital Markets. The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, hardworking, production-focused sales team. The incumbent’s mandate is to provide exceptional service and support to institutional clients, with a focus on activities that will increase the distribution of FX products within the network. The individual must be a trusted partner, providing dedicated support for each district within their geographic coverage area.

  • Execution - Work closely with marketers, strategists, structurers and traders to develop appropriate solutions and timely execution to FSG clients
  • Client development - Initiating and developing clients including outbound and follow up calls, value-add idea generation, client meetings/presentations and customized solutions providing trusted advice
  • Stakeholder relationship - Liaising with CIBC infrastructure groups (credit, treasury, tax, legal, client onboarding, etc) and resources, as appropriate, to deliver transactions
  • Risk management- Working with trading desks in various jurisdictions to work on ideas that fit the risk profile of book, communicate flow and themes from clients, understand the risk and economics behind each trade
  • Client service - Provide product information to our clients in a timely manner with exemplary service. Monitor, track and analyze market activities, economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day to be in a position to respond to client requests
  • Product knowledge - Possess a strong understanding of cash/derivative operations and settlement, work closely with internal and external ops teams, help streamline our day to day operation process . On your own initiative, develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study. Be prepared to cross train when the appropriate time arises, as suggested by management. Share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and other members of FSG
  • Cross-selling - Cross-sell other products, depending on product availability and client mandates, at all times making sound judgment

Who You Are

  • You are passionate for financial markets and experienced knowledge of FX market dynamics
  • You have attained an Undergraduate university degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Accounting
  • You can demonstrate 1-3 years of industry sales experience and possess strong derivative and funding solutions knowledge
  • You can quickly acquire knowledge, demonstrate competence and add value to transactions and client relationships
  • You can demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and strong client management skills
  • You have efficient organizational skills to respond to shifting priorities on several simultaneous projects
  • You have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to develop, manage and leverage relationships with clients, internal and/or external business partners
  • You can exhibit significant presentation/interactive skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information/ideas on issues involving extensive interpretation and opinion
  • You have proven ability to develop viable product ideas and to lead product development process from idea generation through to closing. Strong project management skills
  • You have highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, sufficient to convey complex factual and conceptual information on issues requiring detailed explanation and interpretation
