JUNIOR RESEARCH ANALYST

Salary Range: $62,780 - $78,478

1.0 FTE Permanent Position

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Junior Research Analyst within the Research and Decision Support Department supporting Indigenous education programming, initiatives and research. The location for this position is the Education Centre in Midhurst, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager of Research and Decision support, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing research and analyses to support board and school improvement planning, board strategic directions, provincial accountability requirements, the development, evaluation and modification of board programs and services; all tasks inclusive of a concentrated focus within Indigenous education including work on special projects and research exploring data and outcomes for Indigenous learners. This position will be an integral part of the research team to meet the goals of the Operational plan in support of the SCDSB strategic priorities.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Three (3) year college advanced diploma or university undergraduate degree in a relevant area, e.g. Psychology, Sociology, or equivalent;
  • Post-graduate certificate in the program area of Research Analyst or equivalent certificate in Business Intelligence preferred;
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodology, analysis, and reporting;
  • Excellent skills using Microsoft Power BI, SPSS (syntax), survey development software, familiarity with GIS preferred;
  • Skills using MS Office (Excel and Word) including creativity in presenting findings using MS Office PowerPoint or additional data visualization software;
  • Previous experience demonstrating a high level of attention to detail working with data;
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a highly collaborative and professional working environment;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills;
  • A commitment to life-long learning in the field of educational and/or Indigenous research;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic, evolving environment and continuous changes in research and associated technology;
  • Ability to work independently and follow data collection and analysis workflow protocols; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.

TESTING MAY BE REQUIRED DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS.

This position is a permanent full-time position. The regular work year for this position is twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $62,780 to $78,478 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,

even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
