About the role

Assistant Director of Operations

Our House Hospitality Company Toronto (hybrid, with regular onsite presence across our restaurants) Full-time, salaried Base $80,000–$90,000 CAD by experience · ~$110,000 CAD total with structured bonus Employer-paid health & dental

We're a Toronto-based, multi-concept hospitality group — from a Michelin-listed fine-dining flagship to high-volume favourites — spanning Prime Seafood Palace, Rizzo's House of Parm, Matty's Patty's Burger Club, and The Iron Cow Public House, with new concepts in the pipeline.

We're scaling, and we're hiring the operational right hand to our Director of Operations: the person who takes a priority and turns it into done — at standard, without being chased. It's a builder's role with high autonomy and a real path into senior operational leadership as we grow.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN The role rests on four pillars: People & HR — the day-to-day HR engine across the portfolio: employee relations, investigations, recruitment, onboarding, performance, and internal staff communications. Manager accountability & culture — hold GMs and AGMs to standards, budgets, and numbers, and build a high-performance, hospitality-first culture. Execution & events — run cross-functional projects end to end and oversee private events, buyouts, and activations alongside our Director of Events. Finance, systems & compliance — multi-unit flash reporting and P&L analysis in Excel; facilities, repair & maintenance across locations; permits, insurance, and policy compliance; and AI-assisted workflows that cut manual reporting.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 7+ years in high-volume restaurant or hospitality operations (fine-dining and high-volume casual exposure is a strong asset; multi-unit leadership preferred).
  • Hands-on HR leadership — employee relations, investigations, progressive discipline, recruitment, and performance management — with a working command of Ontario employment standards.
  • A track record of holding leaders accountable to results and running larger cross-functional projects, including external partners, to completion.
  • Direct ownership of restaurant P&Ls — prime cost, flash reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Proficient use of AI tools in a professional setting, with examples of the time or cost you saved. Assets: HR coursework or CHRP, Smart Serve and food-handler certification, familiarity with 7shifts/Push and QuickBooks, facilities/vendor-management or dashboard-building experience, and beverage credentials.

WHO YOU ARE Approachable but able to hold the hard line. Discreet with sensitive people and financial matters. Calm and decisive in ambiguity. Ego-light, commercially sharp, and numbers-confident — without ever losing sight of the guest.

WHY OHHC Broad exposure across a growing group — multiple concepts, P&Ls, and markets in one role. Employer-paid health and dental, an education allowance, a dining allowance across our restaurants, and access to industry events. Everything we do runs through our H.O.U.S.E. credo: Hospitality, Opportunity, Uniqueness, Solidarity, Experiences.

HOW TO APPLY Email your resume and a short cover letter to careers@ourhousehc.com — include specific examples in HR leadership, project and event delivery, financial analysis, and AI implementation, with the measurable results you delivered.

OHHC is an equal-opportunity employer; accommodations are available on request throughout the selection process.
