About the role

Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, Data Science

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in Data Science. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, and will begin on July 1, 2024, or shortly thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Data Science.
  • Developing and delivering innovative course materials.
  • Engaging in curriculum development and program design.
  • Contributing to the academic community through service and outreach.

Qualifications

Required

  • A PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Data Science or related subjects.
  • A record of innovative teaching practices.
  • Experience with online and hybrid teaching methods.
