About the role

The Big Picture

We are actively seeking a Production Supervisor to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in leading production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of medical devices. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising daily production activities, training and developing team members, and driving continuous improvement across processes. The successful candidate will bring proven leadership experience in the medical device industry and a passion for excellence in a regulated environment.

Impact Through Innovation

  • Lead, supervise, and dispatch work to Production Team Members to achieve daily productivity and quality requirements.
  • Model and enforce workplace standards for safety, GMP compliance, quality, productivity, behavior, housekeeping, hygiene, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure employees follow proper gowning practices, health & safety protocols, and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Confirm the accurate completion of production documentation, including Lot Manufacturing and Lot Packaging records.
  • Provide structured training and cross-training to staff; ensure training records are consistently updated and compliant.
  • Collaborate with Engineers to improve processes, methods, tools, and equipment for enhanced safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting quality, productivity, lead time, or cost; escalate when needed with recommendations.
  • Support R&D Engineers with feedback on manufacturability during early-stage product development.
  • Apply progressive discipline, manage attendance, and conduct annual performance reviews for team members.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and developing team members, ensuring succession planning and skill growth.
  • Partner with the Production Planner on scheduling, recovery actions, and ensuring adherence to customer timelines.
  • Promote adherence to all Corporate, Quality, and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Decision-making Authority: Responsible for day-to-day supervision, training, scheduling, and productivity decisions within defined protocols and standards.
  • Planning Responsibility: Accountable for workforce scheduling, cross-training initiatives, and supporting long-term productivity and quality goals.
  • Leadership Authority/Supervision Exercised: Directly supervises a team of production employees; responsible for coaching, performance management, attendance, and team engagement.

Your Unique Expertise

Required Skills:
  • Post-secondary education in a technical, science, or engineering discipline preferred; secondary school education acceptable with significant industry experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), cleanroom standards, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Competency in the English language (oral, reading, and writing).
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure.
Asset skills:
  • Experience within the medical device industry.
  • Computer literacy; knowledge of Microsoft Office.
