Employment Access Coach

(Part-time Contract until March 2026)

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

We aresearching for a part-time Employment Access Coach is a functional role which is responsible for providing one-on-one short-term employment counselling, pre-employment supports, referrals and ongoing support and follow up with clients to address identified barriers in accessing the Canadian labour market.

W****hat you will be doing:

  • Conduct assessments and guide clients to develop individualized employment action plans based on identified goals and priorities using a client-centred approach
  • Facilitate internal and/or external referrals to services and resources as appropriate
  • Enroll clients in appropriate training workshops, information sessions and other activities
  • Provide individual coaching and support to clients related to their employment goals
  • Facilitate the development and enhancement of clients’ skills in conducting job search research, networking, resume writing and interviewing
  • Conduct case management through continued appropriate support and follow-up with clients
  • Conduct continuous research on employment trends relevant to the Canadian Labour Market
  • Participate actively in case consultations with members of the Employment Access Program and other internal Settlement Program teams
  • Maintain client files and ensure that accurate and up-to-date records of clients’ progress are kept
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely statistical, financial and progress reports to the Program Manager, Regional Director and other stakeholders on a regular and ad hoc basis
  • Support the Program Manager in ensuring the agency’s goals and funder’s contractual obligations are met
  • Assist Program Manager with supervision of volunteers and placement students as assigned
  • Provide support to the Manager in developing and executing outreach plans to promote the program and recruit participants
  • Provide support and backup coverage to the other members of the Employment Access Program
  • Provide recommendations for improvement, development and/or expansion to ensure proactive response to clients’ changing needs
  • Perform other duties as required.

What are we looking for?

  • University Degree or Community College Diploma in Social Sciences, Humanities, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in employment assessment, coaching and group facilitation
  • Previous work experience in employment counselling and settlement services is an asset
  • Current working knowledge of employment related legislation and professional practice standards and licensing requirements in Ontario
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Canadian Labour Market and employment trends
  • Demonstrated experience in the client-centred case management service delivery approach
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional time management skills with a proven record of being able to meet simultaneously occurring deadlines
  • Demonstrated crosscultural communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes required evening and weekend hours
  • Excellent oral and written English skills are required, second language relevant to the community is an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and internet applications

Location: Brampton, ON

Compensation: $29.67 to $33.02 based on experience

Hours of work: 21 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime as required.

From its humble beginnings in a downtown Toronto church in 1954, CCS has grown into one of the largest settlement organizations in Canada.
