About the role

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Provide prompt and courteous service to prospective and current residents, focusing on their individual needs and wants
  • Access control and visitors management
  • Surveillance and monitoring
  • Emergency response - making proper announcements
  • Customer service
  • Record keeping
  • Establish positive working relationships with business owners and suppliers in the area in order to provide residents with high quality and reliable recommendations
  • Answer, record, and process all resident calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns
  • Record and report resident complaints to the Building Manager for immediate action
  • Provide building access to contractors and visitors by maintaining contractor logs and managing access devices
  • Monitor access by activating and maintaining log of security access cards and fobs, underground transmitters and other access devices
  • Foot patrols
  • Prolong sitting and standing will be required
  • Strong computer skills
  • Maintain enter phone system and security system software
  • Perform regular patrols of the interior and exterior common areas
  • Act as a liaison between contracted staff and Building Manager, reporting any issues to Management
  • Lead the property’s concierge operations and team in every regard
  • Prioritize and delegate day-to-day activities to all Concierge staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the Client, or the Regional Manager

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma

  • *MUST* Ontario Security Guard License

  • *MUST* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate

  • Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time

  • Ability to lift up-to 50lbs

  • Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently)

  • Excellent customer service and reception skills

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

  • Rate of Pay: $19.02 per hour

  • Working Hours: Friday and Saturday 2300-1100

  • Location: 145 Queen St E, Brampton, ON

As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
