Position Requirements
All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work duringafter-school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm)as well as someSaturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm).
A commitment until the end of the term inJuneis preferred. Continuing through thesummer and into the coming school yearis even better. Your students will love working with you, andreliability is a must.
This role isin-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This isnot an online position. Relocation packages are not available.
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field (Physics, Engineering, Science, etc.)
- Fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Strong knowledge of theGrades 9–12 physics curriculum, including topics such as:

- Kinematics and dynamics
- Forces and motion
- Energy and work
- Waves and optics
- Electricity and magnetism
- Confidence in Math up to Grade 11 or 12 is a bonus!
Experience:
- Experience teaching or tutoringGrade 9–12 physics (or equivalent)
- StrongEnglish written and oral communication skills
- Strongphysics and problem-solving skills
- Ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly
- Ability to multitask and balance working withup to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details):
You will work directly with students as anInteractive Coachwith the following responsibilities:
- Teachingup to 3 students at a timeat different levels
- Teachingin-person
- Following theOxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling inpost-lesson notes
- Completingdaily student communication updates
- Maintaining afriendly and professional mannerat all times
