About the role
Who you are
- 5+ years of professional user research experience
- Degree in a related field (e.g. Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Anthropology, Psychology, etc.) or equivalent experience
- Skilled in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Proven track record of leading research programs that have shaped product vision and delivered measurable impact
- Strong communication and presentation skills to influence product decisions
- Experienced in participant recruiting, managing research panels, and using industry-standard research and design tools
- Passionate about smart home technology and creating product experiences people love
What the job involves
- You’ll be part of our Product Design team, working closely alongside designers, product managers, and other partners to shape meaningful experiences for our customers
- Our Product Design team takes a holistic approach, ensuring every moment in the customer journey is thoughtfully crafted to be intuitive, impactful, and delightful
- As a Senior User Researcher, you’ll serve as a trusted expert across diverse product areas, collaborating with cross‑functional teams including design, product, marketing, and industrial design
- You’ll bring curiosity and rigor to complex challenges, applying the right methods to uncover insights that inspire empathy, influence strategy, and create products people love
- This is a 14-month full-time contract position
- Lead end-to-end research studies from planning, recruitment through to synthesis to uncover the needs, behaviors, and motivations of our customers
- Choose and apply the right mix of methods that drive confident product decisions (e.g. usability testing, interviews, diary studies, concept testing, surveys, and more)
- Communicate findings in clear, compelling ways tailored for different audiences including designers, product managers, executives, and other stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions that bring teams closer to our customers and help translate insights into action items
- Own the research roadmap to support multiple product lines and evolving business needs
- Champion the voice of the customer across the company, helping to build and grow our user research and insights practice
- Support and mentor teammates, sharing best practices and helping others build their research skills
